200 Hour Curriculum

The basics. Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation are the foundation of a Yoga practice. During your 200 hour immersion you will build your knowledge of all these practices, but most importantly you will embody them and learn how to meet them daily.

Learn when and how Yoga began and why this is important to take with us into the modern era. The traditional teachings of the Vedas, Upanishads, and Yoga sutras will be woven throughout your time with us. What does it mean to live Yoga? How does one incorporate the Yamas and Niyamas into modern life? In order to know where we are going it is important to know where we have come from.

Our training is deeply rooted in alignment based Hatha Yoga, with a backbone of Tantric and non-dual spiritual concepts and philosophy,

Yoga and Ayurveda are two sides of the same coin. Our training dives deep into Ayurvedic philosophy, lifestyle, finding balance and rhythm through the lense of the elements and doshas. Our training empowers students to live in this rhythm throughout our days and seasons, with our families and communities.

Please note that several weekends will include a visit to Lesley and Nicolis home, just 5 minutes from the studio. Here we will cook together, eat together, learn what an Ayurvedic kitchen looks like, and how to easily bring these ways into your own kitchen and life.

Invoke the sacred. Yoga is a science that has been rigorously tested for thousands of years. These tools work. Learn to use them  in your own life, and then bring them out into the world.

Learn the basics asanas and how they look in the body. We teach and practice with Iyengar Alignment principles- learn how to find your students optimal alignment blueprint to allow for more sustainable practice and optimal energy  (prana) flow throughout the body.

This training has a strong Anatomy basis. We know that knowledge of the body is extremely important when teaching Yoga and is often where modern trainings fall behind. You will graduate with a good working knowledge of the physical body and be confident in teaching it to others.

You will leave this training with the confidence to teach.

Learn the intelligence of Vinyasa Krama, and how to structure a class that flows, makes sense, and supports your students practice in a way that is sustainable for life.

What will it look like for you to teach Yoga to the world? Learn the different structures Yoga teachers are using to support them financially. How is this changing in our modern, tech-centred world? Where do you fit in on your unique path of sharing Yoga?
